Cupcakes & options guide

Choose with confidence.

You don’t need bakery vocabulary to request a beautiful cake. Here’s the plain-language version of each choice.

Cake shapes

Pick the shape that fits the moment.

Round

The classic celebration shape. Easy to style from simple and elegant to bold and playful.

Square

A crisp, modern look with clean corners and a little extra visual drama.

Sheet

A practical rectangular cake that serves a crowd and leaves room for a message.

Tiered

Two or more stacked cake layers for weddings, milestones, and larger celebrations.

Carved

A cake shaped into a character, object, number, or other custom form. These take extra planning.

Coatings and icing

What goes on the outside?

Fondant

A smooth, rolled coating that creates a polished surface and holds sculpted details well.

Buttercream

A rich, classic icing that can be smooth, textured, piped, or decorated with rosettes.

Whipped

A soft, airy finish that is lighter and less sweet than traditional buttercream.

Icing flavor and color are separate choices. Tell Karen both the flavor you want to taste and the colors you want to see.

Inside the cake

Filling is its own layer of flavor.

Filling sits between cake layers, while icing covers the outside. You can choose both.

Fruit filling
Bright, sweet-tart fruit between the layers.
Cream cheese
Tangy and creamy, especially good with red velvet.
Chocolate ganache
Smooth, rich chocolate for a decadent center.

Current cake flavors

Banana, strawberry, lemon, white, chocolate, red velvet, and yellow.

Want something else? Choose “Other” on the form and describe it. Karen will let you know what’s possible.
